මෙම පොත ගැන
Monarchy and Republic in the Laboratory of History asks a simple but controversial question: when we look at actual results rather than political assumptions, which form of government has performed better?
Instead of beginning with a preference for monarchy or republic, the book treats history as a laboratory. It compares countries using measurable indicators related to five fundamental goals of government: welfare, security, order, justice, and liberty.
Drawing on international data and statistical comparisons, the book examines monarchies and republics across a wide range of indicators. It also distinguishes between constitutional and non-constitutional monarchies and considers alternative explanations such as geography, natural resources, culture, history, and level of development.
The purpose is not to claim that one form of government automatically causes better outcomes. Rather, it asks readers to set political labels aside and examine what the available evidence actually shows.
Written for general readers, the book combines data, charts, statistical analysis, and political reasoning in an accessible way.
