Privacy

We collect as little as we can. This page describes what the site actually does.

Readers

• You do not need an account to browse, read or download. We set no cookies on the public pages.
• To keep download counts honest and to prevent abuse, a salted, irreversible hash of your IP address is kept for up to two days. The IP address itself is not stored.
• The site is delivered through Cloudflare's network, and its fonts load from Google Fonts. Those services see your IP address and follow their own privacy policies.
• Ordinary server access logs are kept for a short time.

Authors with accounts

• Account: your name, email and password. The password is stored only as an irreversible hash.
• Cookie: one session cookie, potha_s, is set only when you sign in. It is not used for tracking.
• Signed declaration: it contains your name, address and signature. It is stored where the web cannot reach it and only administrators can open it. It is never published. It is kept while the book is listed, and afterwards as evidence that the licence was granted.
• What becomes public: only the book's title, author name, description, cover and file. Your email address is never published.

Problem reports

When you report a problem with a book, your name, email and message are kept in order to deal with it.

Your rights

You can change your name in Settings. Deleting a draft deletes its files. To ask for your account and data to be deleted, use the report form on any book page and choose "Something else". We do not sell your information or give it to advertisers.
