The first complete English translation of the Dhammapada, the 423 verses of the Buddha's teaching that every Buddhist tradition treasures, made by the Oxford scholar Max Müller for the Sacred Books of the East. Older in style than modern versions, but still clear, and historically important as the text through which the West first met the Dhammapada.
